As a family owned business, Croma has pursued a corporate policy based on ecological, economic and social sustainability long before ESG entered the corporate realm. Coming from ophthalmology, Croma has been for example a long-term major sponsor of Light for the World to contribute to the improvement of eye care in the poorest regions of the world.
As part of the EU Green Deal, as of 2025, the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) also commits non-public, mid-size companies to report their social and ecological footprint and governance model on an annual basis.
As a diligent company, we have already started preparations and aim to publish Croma’s first ESG Report by the end of 2023. With the support of a renowned ESG consultant, Croma’s inhouse ESG team is currently defining the current and target states in all three pillars – Environmental, Social and Governance, integrating all the prior efforts in these areas into the new framework.
We will keep you posted on our next steps. Stay tuned.
